5 Axis CNC Milling Machining Centers
|
5 axis machining center usually are provided in 3 axis capabilities featuring x axis (table movement side to side), Y axis (table movement towards and away from operator or column) and Z axis (spindle movement into workpiece), in addition to 2 axes of part rotation both in tilt and radial orientation. These machines many times have trunion rotaries that are built into the frame of the machine. Other times a standard vertical with a 2 axis rotary is bolted onto the table. One other design is where the vertical milling spindle tilts and rotates, rather than the workpiece. |
