CNC Vertical Milling Machining Centers

Machining centers usually are provided in 3 axis capabilities featuring x axis (table movement side to side), Y axis (table movement towards and away from operator or column) and Z axis (spindle movement into workpiece). 4th axis would indicate a rotary axis would be added to the machine tool for rotating the workpiece radially.

Iverson & Company represents the following manufacturers:

Spinner

Amada

The Fryer MC-E Series provides fast, reliable performance in a compact footprint. Standard features like box-way construction, 20 tool arm type ATC, 8,000 RPM spindle, 1,000 IPM rapids and a digital control make these machines an outstanding value. The advanced 2100 control features fast set-up, simple conversational programming, 3D solid graphics, standard G code programming, high speed machining and more.

Fryer's MC-P Series offers the ultimate in performance by featuring heavyweight castings with box way construction. The standard 24 tool arm type ATC and 1,200 IPM rapids produce more parts per hour. Fully digital control and drives combined with fast set-up and programming maximize performance and reliability.

Designed as a high performance machining center without an enclosure the Fryer VB Series offers versatility and value. Ideal for production and job shop applications, the VB open design and rugged construction allow for easy loading of large parts. Extremely simple set-up and programming make this machine highly efficient for even short run parts. The VB is also equipped with an impressive set of standard features unmatched by any machine in its class.

Johnford

Vertical machining centers from Johnford give shops the performance and power they need for highly accurate and productive machining. VMCs Built Tough - Solid machine structures ensure productive and economical machining. Johnford VMCs feature a heavy-duty Meehanite cast iron construction and hardened-and-ground box ways that maximize machine rigidity and minimize vibration. Large, pretensioned ballscrews further reduce vibration without sacrificing speed for accuracy.

Johnford VMCs boast many productivity-enhancing features. For more efficient power transfer, the machines have a 2-speed ZF helical planetary gearbox that transmits plenty of power to the spindle - the highest torque in the industry at the lowest rpm! To handle all this power, the machines employ a performance spindle that is flexible enough to handle everything from high-torque, heavy cutting to high-speed machining. And an ultra-fast cam-type twin-arm ATC minimizes tool change times. Our vertical machining centers use the Fanuc Oi-MC for general purpose machining and the 18i-MB CNC for high-end mold/die work.

A machining centre that combines performance and versatility in one unit. The range of the machining centers RV2 SP have been developed especially for the production of high precision parts.Applications include complex parts in the aerospace, medical, optical, electronic and micro-mechinical industries.

LEADING-EDGE TECHNOLOGY FOR MICRO-MECHANICS

For more than 15 years the REALMECA machine beds have been made of a composite material with high density. This material guarantees improved vibration absorption, high stress resistance and thermal stability for :

  • optimal surface finishing
  • a long service life for cutting tools
  • higher processing speeds

The connection elements for the spindle headstock and cross-slides are integrated directly into the machine base. The surface flatness, parallelity and squareness of these components within 2 µm tolerances are achieved via hand scrapping. The extremely precise linear roller guideways are then mounted directly onto the almost perfect surfaces.

High volume operations such as die casting, medical, and hydraulic component manufacturing typically invest in Tongtai milling and tapping centers. Check out the features that make Tongtai mill/drill/tap centers stand out versus the competition:

  • Rotary pallet with a moving-table design lets end users load and unload workpieces on one pallet while machining takes place on the other.
  • Benefit: Faster than machines using a side-loading pallet - Super high-speed, arm-type automatic tool changers.
  • Benefit: Blindingly fast tool changes for extreme productivity - Exceptionally fast rapid traverses.
  • Benefit: Higher productivity - Direct-drive spindles (up to 15,000 rpm available).
  • Benefits: Accelerate and decelerate faster than belt-driven spindles
